Nick Cave Duets With Neko Case

Written by Jim Murray on 6 May 2011

Nick Cave has teamed up with Neko Case to cover The Zombies’ 1964 classic ‘She’s Not There’. The collaboration is set to appear on a forthcoming episode of the vampire drama show True Blood. The upcoming premier episode of Season Four, which shares the same name as the song, is set to feature the two performing the cover as the credits roll.

It’s not the first time the two have performed together – indeed they shared the same tour bill less than 10 years ago. “You always want to serve the show, but in the back of my mind I’m always thinking about the soundtrack,” True Blood music supervisor Gary Calamar told an industry circle jerk in Hollywood this week. The duet is set to replace Santana’s cover of the track, which had originally been requested in the script. “The key to a good soundtrack is having fresh recordings.” Says Calamar.
