Kings of Leon Cancel Tour

Kings of Leon Cancel Tour

Written by Jim Murray on 2 August 2011

Kings of Leon have some serious problems – they’ve had to pull the pin on the rest of their US tour. The band have been on the road in the USA and had to abort a gig in which front man Caleb Followill was so pissed he walked off stage to throw up.

The band have released an official statement which says “The band is devastated but in order to give the fans the shows they deserve they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band’s international tour schedule.”

Followil slurred as he addressed the crowd, saying “My voice is 100% completely wrong. I’m sorry. I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot. I’m gonna vomit. I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs.”

Alas, he didn’t return to the stage, with speculation that he promptly passed out before even getting another beer. Brother Jared then took to Twitter to say “I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”

The band are set to resume their tour at this stage on 28th September in Canada, with Australian dates that were originally rescheduled from March to follow in November. At this stage it looks like the tour is still on but it looks like the strain of being one of the biggest bands in the world is taking its toll.
