All round good guys Foo Fighters have upstaged the planned protest by fundamentalist Christian’s Westboro Baptist Church at their gig in Kansas City, USA.

The church, well known for picketing and celebrating at the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, announced a few weeks back that it intended to protest the gig after the Dave Grohl fronted band uploaded a raunchy homoerotic teaser video for their US tour, saying they were sick of the band promoting “fornication, adultery, idolatry and fags”.

Not one to be outdone however, Grohl and his bandmates had the last laugh after they arrived unannounced at the protest on the back of a truck, wearing wigs, trucker hats, and fake beards like in their video. They then sang a new song specially written for the protesters entitled ‘Keep It Clean’, a tribute song to same-sex love.

Lyrics such as “I’ve got a hankering for something, think I’m in the mood for some hot man-muffins” incensed the church members who heckled the band, but they were spurred on by onlookers who couldn’t believe the hilaity of what they were seeing.

The Foo Fighters tour Australia in November and December with support from Tenacious D and Fucked Up. Watch the hilarious video of the protest below:
