For those who missed out on D12 at the recent Heatwave Festival – where the group were slated to headline, but couldn’t quite make it over on time – good news! They have announced their own sweet run of dates for Australian fans!
D12 were formed in 1996, and achieved mainstream success after one of its members, Eminem, rose to international fame – who in this country could forget the track they worked on with their old mate Em, “Purple Pills”? - D12, an acronym for The Dirty Dozen, is an American pop/hip hop group from Detroit, Michigan, USA. D12 success with album releases in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia has been well documented within pop culture.
Their first album, Devil’s Night debuted at number one on the U.S. and Australian chart plus number two on the UK chart, also reaching the top of the Canadian charts while “Purple Hills”, a single from the album, (the clean version of “Purple Pills”) was a top ten in Australia.
The group’s second album was D12 World released on April 27, 2004, featuring production by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kon Artis and Kanye West, and debuted at the top of the U.S., UK, and Australian album charts — selling over half a million records in its first week of release in the U.S. alone.
“My Band”, the album’s first single, was also successful reaching number one in Australia, New Zealand and the U.S. rhythmic top forty, the top five in the UK and Germany, and the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
Get ready Australia to experience D12 in an intimate club concert experience direct to you LIVE from Detroit to your home town.
