Groovin The Moo has suffered a setback this morning after the popular regional festival fell victim to what seems to be an increasingly common occurrence of overseas acts simply changing their mind and cancelling after tickets have already gone on sale.
This morning Groovin The Moo announced that Chiddy Bang had cancelled their Australian commitments, including the festival, preferring instead to focus on new radio and television promotional opportunities for their upcoming album in the USA.
Organisers are quick to point out that they are as much disappointed by Chiddy Bang’s decision as some punters will be and will be offering refunds from 9am ADST Monday 27 February until 5pm ADST on Friday 2 March through MOSHTIX (1300 438 849) or ticketsupport@moshtix.com.au.
The festival has been quick to add extra acts to the lineup to make up for Chiddy Bang’s absence however and this morning have also announced that J Award Unearthed Artist of the Year winners Ball Park Music will be joining the tour nationally playing alongside Kaiser Chiefs, Wavves, City and Colour, San Cisco, Hilltop Hoods and more.
Promoter Stephen Halpin commented on the circumstances today saying, “To replace an act on the festival at this late stage is very difficult, so we are extremely grateful to have an act of the calibre of Ball Park Music join the tour at such short notice. Yes it’s annoying that Chiddy Bang have chosen to cancel but Ball Park Music are a fantastic live act and deserve all their current success.”
With Bendigo announced as sold out last week, tickets to the other four Groovin’ The Moo events are on-sale now by logging onto gtm.net.au or moshtix.com.au, by calling 1300 438 849 (GET TIX), by visiting selected MOSHTIX outlets or by checking gtm.net.au for an outlet in your local area.
