The Rubens Announce Homecoming Tour

Written by Nicholas Jones on 28 February 2012

When the three Margin brothers packed into Sam’s bedroom to record a few demos, they had no idea that 12 months later they would be recording their debut album. Now the band is in New York City at Avatar Studios working with music heavyweight producer David Kahne (Regina Spektor, Paul McCartney, The Strokes).

Since forming in February 2011, The Rubens have seen a rapid rise through the Australian music scene. Following the radio success of single ‘Lay it Down’, they were lucky enough to score the coveted triple J Unearthed opening spot on the Dome Stage at Homebake. They went on to secure the place of #57 in Triple J’s Hottest 100, and were recently chosen as the support for Lanie Lane’s national tour in May.

Before hitting the road with Lanie, The Rubens will be returning to Australia to showcase their new tracks on a debut national tour. Joining them will be Sydney upstarts, Sures, who have been charming audiences with their brand of surf pop.

Welcome The Rubens on their Homecoming tour this April on the following dates:

THURSDAY 12 APRIL – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
FRIDAY 13 APRIL – Ed Castle, Adelaide*
WEDNESDAY 18 APRIL – GoodGod, Sydney
THURSDAY 19 APRIL – Alhambra Lounge, Brisbane
