With a new album in the pipeline, Summertime Heavy, and a brand new single from it in ‘Hooks For Hands’, Perth rockers Sugar Army are getting back on the road; and they couldn’t be more psyched.

Heading out in June to celebrate their forthcoming release, Sugar Army will play shows in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne with their newly buffed live line-up. The power trio expanding to a five-piece with the addition of Chris Simmons on bass and Ben Pooley on keys/guitar makes for a richer and deeper live show.

Their new single, ‘Hooks For Hands’ showcases the strengths of the band with a catchy under-your-skin chorus, Pat McLaughlin’s distinctive vocals, schizophrenic guitar, unpredictable arrangements and all the other ingredients that perfectly balance the brains, brawn and melody in the Sugar Army brand of rock and roll.

You can have a look and a listen to ‘Hooks For Hands’ video below, self-directed and produced by the band themselves. Talented buggers.
