Splendour In The Grass 2012 Announce Ticket Resale Scheme

Disappointed you missed out on tix to this year’s Splendour In The Grass?

No surprise, you would have had to of been quick on the trigger to secure tickets to the festival after it sold out in less than an hour, the fastest sell-out in its decade-long history. However, there’s still one more chance to get to up to Byron Bay in July for one of Australia’s biggest music events.

Splendour organisers are offering punters who are unable to attend the event an online system to resell their tickets, or take advantage of their refund policy. The facility, available from June 5th, will be offered for both festival and camping tickets allowing tickets to be reissued or resold.

The service allows for tickets to be reissued under a separate name (for a mate or to hide your secret identity), or for punters who are unable to attend the event, they are able to put their ticket back into a resale pool. Reissues will incur a $20 service fee, while refunds to be placed back into the pool to be resold will incur the fee as well as forfeiting the cost of their booking fee from the original purchase.

Splendour organisers have also emphasised that “with the resale, the seller cannot nominate a buyer.” Noting that redistributed tickets will be handled like any other point of sale, anonymously. “Reissued or resold tickets will come to the new owner via a Moshtix email address NOT from an individual’s email address.”

They’ve also stressed that they cannot guarantee a large amount of resale tickets nor predict how many will be made available for resale.

It’s good news for punters hoping to attend the festival upon its return to Belongil Fields in Byron, something that’s caused some heated debate with other major festival organisers. Regardless, many will be celebrating the opportunity to catch a heaving all-star line-up of international acts like Smashing Pumpkins, Lana Del Rey The Shins, the record-baiting Jack White, Smashing Pumpkins, as well as controversy magnet Azealia Banks. Along with local superstars like The Dirty Three, Hilltop Hoods, Kimbra and Tame Impala.

More to the point, Splendour will be the only opportunity for Australian fans to see the newly reformed At The Drive-In and Bloc Party as they’re playing exclusively to Splendour In The Grass 2012.
