Dancing Heals Announce Album Launches In Sydney And Melbourne

Written by Al Newstead on 31 May 2012

Melbourne-based four-piece Dancing Heals are set to return to the stage after several months’ break from the live circuit, and Tone Deaf are proud to present them as they launch their debut album (and introduce their handsome new bass player) on two special dates in Sydney and Melbourne.

Their self-funded and released debut album, Into The Night was recorded locally over a period of  twelve months, “when we could afford it,” says Dancing Heals songwriter and sometimes singer Dan Trakell. That process is part of why Into The Night is in many ways a layered chronicle of the band’s genesis and continuum.

Produced by Mandy Kane and mixed by Tony Espie (The Avalanches, The Holidays) – with input on one track from Paul ‘Woody’ Annison (The Living End, Children Collide) – their first feature-length contains songs from across Dancing Heals’ three-year history; including last year’s surprise US college radio hit, “Diamonds”.

They further infiltrated the coveted American market, with follow-up single “Live & Learn” appearing in the promo campaign for USA TV’s hit series Covert Affair, as well as receiving rotation airplay on the cult radio show Under The Radar.

While here at home, the group are ready to capitalise on their budding independent radio airplay, as well as their first album, Into The Night.
