Brisbane’s Millions Heading Out On Australian Tour To Launch EP

Written by Al Newstead on 13 June 2012

In a history spanning less than 18 months, Brisbane 4-piece Millions have been Unearthed by Triple J, played at 2011′s Splendour In The Grass festival, shared the stage with the likes of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Grates, Bluejuice, Bleeding Knees Club and completed extensive national tours alongside Gold Fields, Nantes and Northeast Party House.

Millions kicked off 2012 in fine form, with a performance at Brisbane’s No Years Festival, followed by a killer set at the Gold Coast leg of the Big Day Out. All this supported by three dynamic songs “Those Girls”, “Guru” and “Slow Burner” at Triple J and public radio alike. The new EP Nine Lives, Six Degrees features all three songs plus an extra two brand new tunes. Recorded at Sydney’s BJB Studios, the EP was produced by Matt Lovell (Eskimo Joe) and mixed by Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, Birds Of Tokyo).

To cap it all off, they’ve just signed with independent music company Stop Start, joining the ranks of fellow locals Ball Park Music, Hungry Kids of Hungary and Northeast Party House.

“It’s really exciting to be working with Millions and I couldn’t be happier that they are joining our local roster”, says Stop Start head Andy Bryan. “I love the songs they’ve delivered thus far, this debut EP is just a taste of what is to come. There is an aesthetic and energy about the music and it just feels like they are a band of the future both in Australia and overseas.”

Millions prepare to head out on their own national headline tour this July to celebrate the release of Nine Lives, Six Degrees. It’ll take a nation of millions to hold them back!
