Returning from its successful inception in Brisbane last year, Sprung Hip Hop Festival is back, boasting an impressive line-up of some of the best Aussie hip-hop acts that the country has to offer.

Top of the bill, are ARIA Award-winning, #1 chart-toppers Hilltop Hoods, playing alongside a stellar line-up that includes Illy, Pez, Tzu, Mantra, Thundamentals, Evil Eddie and many, many more. The focus of this year’s line-up is definitely on artists releasing new records.

This All Ages event is also moving to a new location, with the RNA Showgrounds providing a site for the one-day festival to be held on Saturday 10th November.

Headlining are Adelaide’s Hilltop Hoods, fresh from smashing Australia with their platinum-status sixth studio album, Drinking From The Sun. Which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album charts upon its release last November. Brisbane are particularly fond of these Aussie hip-hop pioneers, with their last show in the city selling out in less than 24 hours.

Equally anticipated is Illy, who has also just announced a national tour in anticipation of his new album, Bring It Back. The Melbourne rapper’s sequel to 2010’s The Chase which cemented him at the forefront as one the country’s most adept hip-hop acts. Joining the Hoods and Illy is “Festival Song” party man, Pez. Back with a new live act that incorporates a live band, as well as releasing his first album in three years before gracing the Sprung Festival stage.

Joelistics and the boys of TZU are also dropping a new record in August, containing their brand new single “Beginning Of The End,” which fuses their traditional rhyming and electronic elements with new stylistic touches such as rock and electronica.

The rest of the festival bill includes the likes of unsigned sensation, Kerser, recently out of retirement MC Bias B; as well as (*deep breath*) Mantra, Spit Syndicate, Seth Sentry, The Thundamentals, Briggs, Vents, The Tongue, Evil Eddie, Mase N Matic, Bam Bam, Seven, Deathstarrs, Dwizfoz and Kudos

Event organisers are attempting to keep ticketing prices for the festival at a low cost-effective price as well, with advance tickets being made available excusively to members of the Sprung Hip Hop mailing list for as low as $66 (plus booking fee). Though limited, you’d best get your name on the mailing list if you’d like to take advantage of a frankly bargain ticket price.

Full prices for the All Ages Event however, will still be a low $77 (plus booking fee) with the option of VIP tickets for $110 also available for punters who want the special treatment.
