Cherry Poppin’ Daddies Announce Australian Tour 2012

Get your dancing shoes on and your hips shaking for when Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, the original kings of jumpin’ swing, return to Australia for yet more rock and rollin’ good times.

Brian Setzer hit big with his Orchestra, David Johansen created an entire alternative career as Buster Poindexter, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy fine-tuned the genre and even Bjork had a go with “It’s Oh So Quiet” becoming her biggest hit – but NOBODY does Jumpin’ Swing Rock n Roll as well as the guys who came up with the idea in the first place – Cherry Poppin’ Daddies!

And your ears and sneakers will never have it so good as when The Daddies break out their signature foot tapping sound featuring ear popping horns, big guitars and pop-rivet drums mixing ska, rock and swing to establish what we know and love as the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies.

After gracing our shores back in 2011 with sold out shows at both the Corner Hotel and Factory Theatre, the Daddies promised to bring their dancing frenzy moves back to Australia once again – and they’ve held good on that promise. There’ll be spinning, skanking and maybe even a little striptease – after all, this is a band out to entertain.

…  and a band guaranteed to get every head bopping, every arse a wigglin’, and every crowd erupting into a dancing frenzy.

So grab a partner, your “Zoot Suits,” and your dancing shoes for an experience like no other when the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies swing their way back to Australia once again for a pair shows that should not be missed.
