Sydney four-piece THE LAURELS will celebrate the release of their debut album Plains (which got the Tone Deaf verdict today) by throwing some fuel into the Tarago and hitting the road this August and September. The Plains Album Tour will see the band embark upon their first headline tour in a year and will take their renowned live show to Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.

Having recently toured the country with Pond and following on from shows with likes of The Black Angels, Wooden Shjips, Swervedriver, Dead Meadow, Low and Tame Impala, THE LAURELS have developed a solid reputation as one of the country’s best live bands, striking a balance between melody and power in their strong sense of melody and sheer strength of their psychedelic swirl.

But whilst notoriety as a floppy haired sonic assault machine is flattering, there’s a lot more to the band than that, and Plains sees THE LAURELS reveal what has long been shielded behind their wall of white noise.

Producer Liam Judson (Belles Will Ring, Cloud Control), a long-time friend of the band, was the man to dismantle THE LAURELS’ wall of sound brick by brick, the highly-anticipated record is currently slaying the airwaves, featuring the singles ‘Changing The Timeline’ and ‘Tidal Wave’.

Plains will be released on July 13 on Rice Is Nice with a vinyl release set for August.

THE LAURELS will also support UK outfit Band Of Skulls on their upcoming Splendour In The Grass sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
