On the eve of tickets on sale, Gorgeous Festival director Alistair Cranney is sad to announce that Gurrumul will no longer be able to perform at the 2012 Gorgeous Festival on the 24th November due to a double booking error made by his agent.

“In the process of changing agents there was a miscommunication on potential and contracted dates which resulted in a double booking,” says Matthew Lazarus-Hall from Chugg Entertainment. “We apologies for the inconvenience that this has caused.”

Cranney however is excited to announce that performing in Gurrumul’s place will be blues singer, Dan Sultan. With songs ranging from haunting acoustic ballads to big band soul-rock, Dan will have everyone on their feet this November in McLaren Vale.

Gorgeous Festival has one of the most picturesque settings in which to enjoy music, premium wines and fresh local produce while appreciating the arts and culture of the vicinity. The 2012 festival will be held on Saturday 24th November, with tickets on sale Thursday 9th August.

“[I’m] really looking forward to playing the Gorgeous Festival this year, I love that it mixes two of my favourite things together: amazing quality food and good music!” says headliner Missy Higgins.

“Doesn’t get much better. I’m stoked to be headlining too, I’ll be bringing my Nashville band over as it will coincide with my national Summer tour, so it’ll be a great show. Festivals are always a lot of fun, they have an incredible vibe that you can’t quite replicate indoors. Fingers crossed there’ll be some yummy local wine backstage!”

On the back of a successful first year, the festival returns to the beautiful wine district of McLaren Vale on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula this November.

A boutique festival that tentalises the senses with music, wine, food and art, Gorgeous Festival is all about showcasing the local food and wine industries while creating a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

The official 2012 Gorgeous Festival lineup includes – Missy Higgins, Dan Sultan, Gossling, The Preatures, Butterfly Boucher, Hayden Calnin and Johnny McIntyre. Ticket go on sale today (9th August) via www.gorgeousfestival.com.au or 1300 762 545.
