Melbourne soul/funk nine-piece Saskwatch are a band in demand.

Hand-picked for a run of shows at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival throughout August, the engagement is yet another impressive notch on the bedpost of what has been an enviable 2012 to date.

The run is the latest in a list of achievements that includes appearances at the Golden Plains and Falls Festivals as well as support slots for luminaries Earth, Wind and Fire, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Maceo Parker. Now becoming well used to selling out venues in their hometown, Saskwatch are set to take their unique brand of good time stomp national with the announcement of tour dates and festival appearances this September/October.

Kicking off with a plum spot at this year’s Bigsound in Brisbane, Saskwatch will take in the sights and sounds of venues all over our wide brown land to launch their keenly-anticipated debut album Leave It All Behind which is scheduled for release through Northside Records / Shock Records this Friday the 17th of August.

Replete with the sweetest jams and heavy steppin’ funk joints, Leave It All Behind, ticks all the boxes and looks fantastic doing it. Get down with them while you can when they hit your town.
