Soundwave 2013 Announce Linkin Park & Stone Sour Sidewaves

Soundwave Festival has already established itself as the must-see music festival for 2013, with its killer line-up already meaning that the touring event has soud out in four of the five states it will be appearing with news last night that Adelaide has joined Queensland, NSW and Victoria in hanging out the Sold Out signs.

Fans who’ve missed out on tickets might be able to take solace then in the first round of acts announced for Soundwave’s sideshows, Sidewave.

The first band to announce a Sidewave are arena rock masters, LINKIN PARK, who will be playing extra dates in Melbourne and Sydney with STONE SOUR.

Since their 2000 breakout debut, Hybrid Theory, the American rock band have spent over a decade of learning curves to get to their current status as one of the world’s biggest acts, currently touring their latest studio album, Living Things.

Joining them will be STONE SOUR, featuring Corey Taylor and Jim Root of Slipknot; a hard rock force of nature who are set to release their fourth studio album, House of Gold and Bones – which will be released in two parts, the first half due this October and the second in time for Soundwave in early 2013.

The band will joined forces for two special sidwaves on the back of the sold out Soundwave festival. It’s not too much of a surprise when you take into account the truly massive list of high-profile acts that festival boss AJ Maddah has ensnared for the 2013 bill, and the fact that the pre-sale for the event was so strong that only 15% of total tickets were left allocated for this morning’s general public sale.

Glancing at the Soundwave 2013 lineup, the allure is obvious. Punters racing to catch three of metal’s ‘Big Four’,with the second round announcement seeing Slayer joining headliners Metallica and Anthrax; or wanting to see Blink 182 – complete with fear-of-flying drummer Travis Barker – in their first Austalian show in over a decade.

Details of the Linkin Park/Stone Sour Sidewave shows are below, following with a reminder of that monstrous Soundwave 2013 lineup.
