Missed Out On Soundwave 2013? Organisers Release Extra Tickets

Once they’re gone, that’s all she wrote

Written by Denham Sadler on 14 September 2012

Following on from the news that Soundwave Festival has sold out across the country, a strictly limited number of extra tickets will be released next Friday for Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

After tickets for Melbourne and Brisbane sold out in record time, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth were quick to follow, and this will be the last chance for fans to grab tickets to the festival.

Soundwave promoter and serial tweeter A.J. Maddah earlier stated that “Once they’re gone, that’s all she wrote”, regarding the last release of tickets.

The huge lineup boasts the likes of Metallica, Linkin Park, Blink-182, A Perfect Circle, The Offspring and a whole lot more. And as if the lineup wasn’t massive enough, a third announcement is still to come which will feature “one or two sizeable bands”, according to Maddah.

This final release of tickets follows the inevitable issue of scalping that has surrounded the festival, with tickets appearing for well over $400 nearly immediately after their release.

A.J. Maddah has long been on a one-man crusade against scalpers, gleefully announcing last month that he had busted the first “scumbag” scalper and would be refunding the tickets, as The Music reported.

Those who miss out on this strictly limited number of tickets can find comfort in the recently announced first round of Sidewaves, featuring Linkin Park and Stone Sour.

Unlucky fans who missed out in Brisbane and Melbourne should also be on the look out for the Official Soundwave Ticket Trading Program which will be launched next week. In another move to combat scalping, the trading program will provide an opportunity for tickets to be resold from genuine sellers at cost price.

The limited batch of tickets for Sydney, Adelaide and Perth will go on sale Friday 21 September at 8am local time.

The Soundwave Festival dates and full lineup in all its glory can be seen below.
