Pyramid Rock Festival 2012 Lineup Gets Bigger Again

Pyramid Rock Festival 2012 Lineup Gets Bigger Again

Written by Nicholas Jones on 11 October 2012

There must be something in the water today, with Bluesfest in Byron Bay adding more acts to their lineup overnight and Homebake making a few additions just a few hours ago.

NowPyramid Rock Festival is getting in on the action, adding to their impressive list of talent on top of the previously announced two rounds of acts that will be helping the Philip Island music festival soundtrack its two day Neew Year’s extravaganza.

Along with international talent like agit-punk rockers Anti-Flag, the garage psychedelia of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, plus UK acts Blood Red Shoes and Friendly Fires; a bevy of Australian talent is already gracing the bill including John Butler Trio, 360, Pnau, Gossling, Karnivool, Children Collide, Xavier Rudd, Stonefield, Van She, Saskwatch and many more.

Now, Pyramid Rock have announced five more acts that will be joining the already fit-to-bursting lineup. Steady yourself; this announcement features some earth-shakingly good acts.

First cab off the rank is none other than Tame Impala, who have just announced a national tour in December and will also be gracing the stages at Meredith Music Festival and Homebake.

Other new additions are Asta, Beni, Los Coronas, and My Secret Circus.

Tickets are on sale now through from WWW.THEPYRAMIDROCKFESTIVAL.COM

There’s a hell of a lot at stake when performing at a festival – potentially the biggest crowd of an artist’s career, being pitted against nature’s elements, sound and lighting that could go wrong at any moment. There’s the pressure to blow the act after you off stage, there’s the pressure to live up to hype and show that you are capable of pulling off a show on a massive stage. Mnay acts have come a cropper when trying to do this but many have risen to the occasion; the adrenaline and the massive crowds either overcoming them or proving that they are capable of being one of the best bands in the world.
