Golden Plains Lucky Seven Adds Another Act To Lineup
Following its first announcement at the start of the month, the ever popular Meredith Music Festival‘s sister event, Golden Plains is firing back up again, and its 2013 showing promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The lineup is well and truly being drip-fed and following on from confirmation that Cat Power will be playing Golden Plains Lucky 7, we now have another act we can add to what will eventually be a deliciously eclectic bill.
While the full lineup will be available next Tuesday morning, teases Aunty Meredith, she can now reveal that the Funkiest Experience on Mother Earth will be landing in the Supernatural Amphitheatre on the last night of the festival to deliver a two hour funk extravaganza with a 17-piece band.
GEORGE CLINTON AND PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC will be bringing their the “funkiest funky funk” to Golden Plains Lucky 7.
So while Parliament Funkadelic will be bringing their legendary, ass-shaking vibes to the Sunday night of the event, the lovely Chan Marshall aka Cat Power and her all-new band will be closing the Sunset slot on the Saturday beforehand – providing two amazing reasons to get excited about a hand-selected, curated, and guaranteed ‘Golden Top Quality’ festival bill.
Aunty Meredith has promised an “Epic Long Weekend in the Most Glorious of Outdoors at The Orchard of Good Times that is the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre” on March 9 – 11, 2013, and is extremely proud to announce that they’ve been able to keep Lucky 7 the same price as last year while ensuring Golden Plains is the same perfectly-formed shape and size as her forebears, yet bursting with even more nutritional goodness.
The critically acclaimed festival will still be BYO, with no commercial sponsors, the coveted ‘No D!ckhe@ds rule, and the one stage policy so you miss nothing and experience everything.
Aunty Meredith promises that: “We pride ourselves on Looking After You Brilliantly from start to finish at Golden Plains and making your time here Unforgettably Fruitful. We are supremely determined to unfurl the finest Golden Plains that ever lived.”
With the beautiful surrounds of The Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre, been natured and nurtured on twenty-two years of knuckled-down know-how, and plenty of spacious landscapes for camping along with hand-picked caterers over two nights of music joys, Golden Plains is a no-brainer.
As usual, the ticket ballot is held to make things fair to gain access to this most beautiful of musical events, ensuring tickets go to subscribers before going on public sale, the first round draws to a close this Monday before the full reveal of the lineup the following morning – so do you feel Lucky (7)?

There’s a hell of a lot at stake when performing at a festival – potentially the biggest crowd of an artist’s career, being pitted against nature’s elements, sound and lighting that could go wrong at any moment. There’s the pressure to blow the act after you off stage, there’s the pressure to live up to hype and show that you are capable of pulling off a show on a massive stage. Mnay acts have come a cropper when trying to do this but many have risen to the occasion; the adrenaline and the massive crowds either overcoming them or proving that they are capable of being one of the best bands in the world.
