he inaugural CherryFest is on Sunday 25 November from 12noon with 15 acts across 2 stages in AC/DC Lane and Cherry Bar. This unique rock n roll street party just got more rock, more party and more street with the addition of legendary Wollongong stoner-rockers, TUMBLEWEED who join the compelling yet bizarre line-up put together by Cherry co-owner and booker, James Young.

“Yes, CherryFest welcomes weed! The heavy guitars of legends, Tumbleweed now join the prog-rock of The Mars Volta and At The Drive-In maestro guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (USA) & his group, the sludge-metal of Eyehategod (USA), the one-off reformation of stoners Dern Rutlidge, the charismatic-country of Henry Wagons, the trippy-psychedelia of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and much more, including I Exist (Canberra), My Left Boot, River of Snakes, Gruntbucket, King Parrot, Dead City Ruins and Frankenbok, and me as MC, no less!” Says James.

Sadly, Big D & the Kids Table have canceled their entire OZ tour, so Cherry is keen to make it up to Melbourne by adding Tumbleweed and something special: So, the First 500 ticket-purchasers to CherryFest (800-capacity) will each get a FREE CherryFest T-shirt (Gildan soft-style unisex double-sided T-shirt in various sizes with 2-colour front) valued at $40.

CherryFest, thanks to an avoided-deforestation lease through our friends at TreeCreds, is a carbon-neutral event. No-one leaves a carbon footprint on a Cherry stage! What’s more, we even offer FREE Bottled water (thanks to Another Bloody Water) all day at CherryFest.

Remember, CherryFest is an event designed to reclaim AC/DC Lane by the people, on the eve of the launch of a 12-storey 189-apartment residential complex at the foot of AC/DC Lane.

Tickets available from www.cherrybar.com.au or on the Door, if not sold-out, for just $94 (includes booking fee). The inaugural CherryFest is where music loving rock fans will come together.
