LA-based trio Liars have announced they will bringing the Californian sun to Australia this winter.

A cult-favourite, Liars have built a bold fan base since they dropped their almost dance-punk debut record  They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top back in 2001. Flash-forward 13-years later, Liars are now riding off the rouse of success that is their seventh studio LP Mess. The band have commented that “work on the new album has been immediate, fun, instinctual and confident” which emphatically transcends their life performance.

The noise-punk band have garnered quite the reputation as one of the most unique, artistic live acts on the travelling circuit. In the past 12-months the experimental lads have transfixed the minds of many from the US, Europe and even Israel, including sets at the forever-cool Primavera Festival of Spain, UK’s Parklife Weekender as well as New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art which is still spoken of.

Liars’ sets are sporadic and contain bits and pieces from their discography, acknowledging their past whilst simultaneously surging forward with their new productions.

Almost two years have passed since the band were on Australian shores, at the time apart of the now fallen Harvest Festival. This time, the band have been drawn out to enrich Vivid Sydney with their artistic prowess.  The trio will perform at Vivid’s Modulations in Redfern as well making a trip down south to The Corner Hotel in Melbourne.
