More Acts Announced For Falls Festival

The Falls Festival has followed up hot on the heels of its sister festival, Southbound in Perth, by announcing  a similar set of acts for the festival held over New Year in Lorne in Victoria and Marion Bay in Tasmania.

Joining the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes and The Jezabels, the event sees the aforementioned headliners joined by Canadian electro shock therapists Crystal Castles, beloved Australian troubadour Josh Pyke, Dinosaur Jr front man and guitar fuzz wizard J Mascis, former Mint Chick Ruban Neilson’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra  and hot to trot Sydney newcomers Papa vs Pretty.

The Falls Music and Arts Festival is one of Australia’s longest running festivals, now in its 9th and 19th years in Tasmania and Victoria respectively. There are around 70 performers on the bill ranging diversely from musicians to comedians and arts performers. The coastal locations are beautiful, all camping is free and it’s held over:

3 days from December 29, 2011 in Marion Bay Tasmania (all ages), and
4 days from December 28, 2011 in Lorne, Victoria (18+ event).

Tickets – the majority of tickets will be allocated via the ballot. Subscribe at www.fallsfestival.com before August 5th 2011. Remaining tickets go on sale August 17th 2011.

The line up features, in alphabetical order:

Arctic Monkeys, Arj Barker, Crystal Castles, Easy Star All Stars (performing Dub Side of the Moon in full), Fleet Foxes, J Mascis, Josh Pyke, Papa Vs Pretty, The Jezabels, The Wonderful World of DJ Yoda, Tim Finn, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and many more to be announced.
