Dub-step songstress Katy B has pulled out of the national Parklife festival after playing the Melbourne and Perth legs last weekend. A statement issued on the Parklife website says:
It is with great regret that, due to personal reasons Katy B has had to pull out of the remainder of the Parklife 2011 national tour and fly back to London immediately. Katy absolutely loved playing Parklife Melbourne and Perth over the weekend and was touched by the fantastic support shown to her on these two performances, her first in Australia. She is extremely sad to leave the tour and wishes Example, Magnetic Man, Nero, Gossip, Santigold and all the other incredible acts she was appearing alongside, all the best for the shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide this coming weekend. Lastly, Katy B wishes to apologise to all of her Australian fans and promises she will be back very soon.
Due to last minute nature of the announcement no replacement has been sought however the set times in Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide have been updated. The Naked & Famous, who drew massive crowds in Melbourne and Perth, are now on later, Yacht Club DJs are at a similar time to before but on Sahara stage, and all the times on the Kakadu stage up til Magnetic Man are slightly different, with some acts starting 10 to 15 mins earlier than before. There’s no change to Atoll, Cave or El Buccan-ear times.
