Could Dainty Group, promoters of Eminem’s Australian tour, be gearing up to announce a third date in addition to the sold out Melbourne and Sydney shows? Many fans of the American rapper were left disappointed when tickets to his first tour since 2001 were snapped up within 30 minutes of going on sale.

In an interview with The Music Network, chairman Paul Dainty said “Well, the way we saw Melbourne go in a blink – which is north of 60,000 – that’s one of the biggest onsales for a long time. We’d love to, and we’re going to try. We’ve got the first ones out the way, and they’ve been huge. Maybe that’ll spur the momentum to get more shows. Is there potential for a handful of extra shows? I don’t think there’s room for a number of dates. It would be a case of would he stay on for another day or two? It’s a little bit premature. But we’re trying. It won’t be for lack of trying, that’s for sure.”

Then just last night on the Dainty Group Facebook page they updated us with the news “Shhhhh…….whispers coming from our office, looks like there’ll be a 3rd Eminem show!!!!…..but where?”.

When hundreds of dozens of fans pressed for more info they released a statement reading “We managed to get Eminem & Lil Wayne here on the pretext of doing two shows. As they’ve sold soooo well we’re trying to get a third show going. We do understand that this may make things difficult for some people – especially those who’ve bought from resellers, like ebay. We can only reiterate that this wasn’t in the original plan – we just want to make sure everyone gets a chance to see these amazing performers in concert!! We will let you know really soon how we go – stay tuned!!”

Word is an announcement is imminent, possibly within the next few days. Where the concert will take place is anyones guess, but with record demand in both Melbourne and Sydney it’ll probably be a sell out wherever they decide to hold it.
