Political mastermind, agitator, activist, musician, poet, philosopher, ecologist, prankster, and ex-Dead Kennedy, Jello Biafra’s first solo Australian show in eight years has sold out, prompting him to announce a second, matinee, show for the same day.

Created specifically for Melbourne Festival, Jello will be responding to overarching themes that inform this year’s program – Power to the People, a call to action and revolution – highlighting recent examples of direct action, including UK Uncut and Occupy Wallstreet.

Following his spoken word performance, Jello will be joined on stage by Dave Graney (The Moodists, Coral Snakes), Steve Kilbey (The Church) and Helen Marcou (organizer of the SLAM rally) to discuss methods for affecting change, and how we can take action locally. Followed by a Q&A, audience members will be given the opportunity to respond to the discussion and ask Jello anything they have ever wanted to know.
