Soundwave just can’t catch a break at the moment. Despite the line up only being announced a little over a week ago, the first band has pulled out of the annual rock/metal festival already in a very public spat with promoter AJ Maddah.

There were rumours over the weekend that Hole, fronted by Courtney Love, had pulled out of the festival due to a dispute with the lineup. Maddah confirmed this on Twitter last night where he told disappointed fans that the agent had acted in an unprofessional manner and that Courtney objected to playing on the same stage as Limp Bizkit as a support act.

The team at Soundwave scrambled to find out more info on the rumour only to have it confirmed by Love’s agent. Maddah then worked to inform his fans on exactly what went down.

But it isn’t all gloom and doom. Maddah promises that they will replace Hole with someone “bigger & better”.

The spat isn’t really that surprising given Love’s history of erractic behaviour. When asked about Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst in an interview in 2010 she said “I have to say, as much as I like Fred, he brought about the worst years in rock history. That just be a fact, OK? That just be a fact. I did it for the nookie! I did not do it for the nookie , I did it for the rock! I’m just saying, man, he’s a nice guy, but Jesus!”
