It’s been six long years since Adelaide emcee Vents dropped his sophomore record Marked for Death, but fans of the Golden Era signee, Hilltop Hoods’ record label, can breathe a sigh of relief as 2017 marks the return of the fierce socially conscious wordsmith.

It’s been just over a month since Vents released ‘Change’, his first single since 2011, and hip-hop fans are in luck with the second single from what we hope is a new album dropping in the not too distant future.

First heard on triple J’s The Hip Hop Show last night, new cut ‘The Bees Are Dying’ has a title which speaks for itself, a haunting lament of today’s harrowing facts of life. Environmental collapse, social disorder, political turmoil… Vents leaves no stone unturned over thumping boom-bap drums and a ghostly choir sample.

You can now stream the full song on Soundcloud or YouTube, and peep Vents’ Facebook page for (hopefully) more album info dropping soon.
