Want To Be A Volunteer A Peats Ridge Festival?

Registrations are now open to volunteering at Peats Ridge lets you join an artistic and slightly zany family of 700 plus people who together put on one of Australia’s finest festivals.

All you have to do is pick your work team, and purchase a volunteer ticket online at www.peatsridgefestival.com.au from August 21.  A timetable will then be available from late October, so volunteers have the ability to pick their shifts and work them around their favourite performances.

Volunteer Tickets are $340 + booking fees, and are fully refunded by January 30 once shifts have been confirmed worked. Register from August 21and pay your volunteer deposit in full or in instalments.

Volunteers who work during the Festival only need to complete three shifts of 5-6 hours each. In return they get to go to the Festival for free!

Positions are aplenty and the different experiences the Festival needs are vast to say the least. Artists can find themselves at home putting their artistic eyes to use in the décor team, while those who want to rub shoulders with the rich and famous can apply for the coveted Artist Liaison roles.

Everybody needs to be fed, so those with culinary skills are also encouraged to apply to get all that food served up to the rumbling tummies of the crew and volunteers and of course the participants.

Those with a love of the environment and are not afraid to get their hands dirty can put their passion to work as Ambassadors for Sustainability, educating festival goers on sustainability. While all those marketing minds can put their skills to the test as members of the marketing team

If you don’t like the idea of working through the Festival, and aren’t afraid of hard work, the set up and pack down crews are always looking for new people, and they get all their work done before or after the Festival.  The pack down crew are required to camp at the site for around a week after the event, working half days and enjoying the rest of the day in the valley – the only way to earn a ticket for 2012 and 2013 already. If you have time to work before the festival, you are required to work 2 full days, don’t need to pay a deposit and get to enjoy the whole festival.

Festival Director Matt Grant says “The Volunteers are such an important part of making the Festival happen and are part of the extended Family of Peats Ridge. Every year the feeling of community created by the Volunteers at the Festival just gets better and better. Volunteers are an integral part of the Festival, and it’s such a pleasure to see all the old faces and welcome the new each year”.

So think about your talents and put your skills to the test this New Year’s, in the fun, creative and zany family that are the Peats Ridge volunteers and crew.
