Red Bull Bedroom Jam Entrants have the Chance to Play Homebake 2012

Red Bull Bedroom Jam 2012 just got a whole lot bigger! All entrants into the online competition are now in the running to play at one of Australia’s biggest music festivals, Homebake, alongside the likes of Birds of Tokyo, Hilltop Hoods and Kimbra.

Six bands in total will have the opportunity to grace the stage. Two of them will be chosen from the ten webcast winners, while the other four will be personally chosen by the festival owner out of all the entries correctly registered at www.redbullbedroomjam.com.au. That means it’s a better time than ever to get your entry in to the competition.

Announced in November, the six chosen to perform will score themselves a full festival experience including return airfares to Sydney from their nearest capital city, airport transfers, accommodation, transfers to the festival, professional sound check and stage management and a 10 minute set.

In the running for a spot at Homebake is webcast winner #8 The Vanns. Hailing from the surfy town of Kiama on the south coast of New South Wales, the four-piece have high hopes to bring back a blues scene but with a new age indie twist.

After cementing their line up in February this year James Vann (17, Guitar and Vocals), Lachlan Jones (18, Drums), Robert Korber (Keys and Backing Vocals) and Adam Bernich (17, Bass) have been writing new tunes and gigging around their hometown all while finishing high school.

The Vanns like the sounds of bands such as Ball Park Music and Jinja Safari and off the back of seven demos that they recently recorded, they have already had some national radio airplay. The indie outfit is also releasing their first EP later this year.

The webcast from The Vanns goes live on Thursday, August 23rd at 7PM AEST on www.redbullbedroomjam.com.au.

Competition Overview:

Red Bull Bedroom Jam is back bigger and better in 2012.  This year we’re looking for vocalists, duos and bands aged between 15 and 21. To enter, all you need to do is record a video of an original track, create an artist or band profile then upload it to www.redbullbedroomjam.com.au.  Spread the word to your friends and fans to create as much buzz as you can. The more buzz you create, the higher you’ll climb up the buzz chart. Top the buzz chart, and you could be performing a gig from your very own bedroom beamed to the world via webcast. Winners will also get the chance to play one of the country’s most iconic live music venues or share the stage with some of the biggest bands in the world at a major music festival, plus studio time to perfect their sounds.

Entries are open from now until September with a webcast winner announced every two weeks.
