The Australasian Worldwide Music Expo 2012 National Scholarship Program Now Open

AWME is pleased to announce that applications are open for a new national scholarship which will enable artists, artist managers and arts workers to attend the fifth Australasian Worldwide Music Expo in Melbourne from 15th – 18th November, 2012.
The scholarship is available for a total of twenty-four artists and industry workers from across the country, of which twelve scholarships will be offered to Indigenous artists.
AWME is the southern hemisphere’s premier roots music industry festival, conference and trade event, which brings together musicians, industry representatives and festival audiences from all corners of the world for four-days of music, networking, film screenings and conference sessions.
Essentially AWME creates a platform for musicians from the region to access high profile music industry representatives from around the world, leading to career development opportunities. The event also presents over 25 panel sessions engaging some of the industry’s leading professionals who share insights into nuts and bolts industry topics, as well as provide sound advice on how to progress beyond our shores.
Some of the delegates attending AWME 2012 will include representatives from Glastonbury Festival (UK), The Great Escape (UK), Fuji Rock (Japan), WOMAD (UK), Bacana Booking Agency (France), The Agency Group (USA), Reggae Sun Ska (France), with many more to be announced soon.
How to Apply:
Applications will be called for through an Expressions of Interest process. The national scholarship covers delegate registration fees. Through a partnership with Arts Victoria, Victorian applicants may also be eligible for further travel and accommodation / attendance support. Successful applicants outside of Victoria will be responsible for arranging their own flights, accommodation and meals.
