East-coast rockers, The Prehistorics, introduce their second album, Subterranean Nightmare, with a list of hard hitting, guitar smothered face-melters which will be appreciated by all classic rock fanatics.

Combining influences raging from old school rock, to psychedelic jams, to blues and punk, it seems The Prehistorics have hit their mark with Subterranean Nightmare.

Opening with tracks ‘Attack Of The Klingons’ and ‘Medusa Touch’, it’s easy to tell this band mean some serious rock business. The tracks are jam-packed with classic guitar shredding and hard hitting drumming, giving listeners an incentive to continue down the track list.

Following up from an energy overdose early on in the album, tracks ‘Creature Feature’ and ‘Killer Clowns’ provide more axe bashing as lead guitarist Simon Figliuzzi shreds his way through another rhythmic bash.

The lead vocals provided by Brendan Sequeira provide a raw, distinct mongrel feature to the album. Sequeira cleverly controls his phrasing to provide bursts of energetic chorus to perfectly fitting tonal verses; not a common occurrence in too many alternative, hard-hitting rock performances.

The album really does have to be appreciated by fans of old school rock musicianship; from clever guitar to energetic drumming – The Prehistorics have truly showcased a display of instrumental and songwriting talent.
