It seems on top of crazy lifestyles and outlandish get ups, family ties in the form of formidable musical brothers rein supreme in rock and roll.     Allman: Allman Brothers Band
    Formed in Jacksonville Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane and Gregg, the Allman Brothers were a blues/rock band known for their live act. Duane tragically died in 1971 in a motorcycle accident this disbanding the brothers.

    Cester: Jet
    Since Jet’s recent split The Cester Brothers have gone on to do separate work, with drummer Chris going to work in San Francisco on a new electro band titled DAMNDOGS.

    Butler: Arcade Fire
    Both Win and his closely named brother William perform in Arcade Fire with William, the lesser known of the two brothers, performing synth and various other instruments in the studio while Win takes the primary singer-songwriter role.

    Davies: The Kinks
    A quote from Dave Davies in response to speculation of a reunion says it all about the two cheeky brothers relationship: "Never! Not since my brother Ray stamped on my 50th birthday cake."

    Dessner/ Devendorf: The National
    Formed in Ohio and currently based in New York, brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner as well as brothers Bryan and Scott Devendorf make up four members of The National.

    Everly: The Everly Brothers
    Phil and Don Everly - known for their steel string guitar playing and close harmony singing - released the iconic 1965 single 'Bye Bye Love'. The band has gone on to encourage great success.

    Finn: Split Enz
    Split Enz was formed by the Finn brothers Tim and Neil as well as close friend Phil Judd, they went on to maintain separate sustainable careers after Tim left the band in late 1983 due to creative differences.

    Farriss: INXS
    Andrew and Jon Farriss play guitar and keyboards while the third Farriss brother Tim is the drummer for the popular pop group. Singer Michael Hutchence died of an overdose in 1997 at age 37 and many efforts have since been made to find a new lead singer.

    Finn: Crowded House
    With Neil and Liam both sharing songwriting duties, the band works together better than most brother duos with their smooth running sibling relationship.

    Fogerty: Creedence Clearwater Revival
    John Fogerty was the primary songwriter and vocalist in the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival with brother Tom Fogarty taking on rhythm guitar duties.

    Followill: Kings Of Leon

    Gallagher: Oasis
    Ahh the Gallaghers, notorious for all the wrong reasons. With both brothers now branched out into side projects, we'll always be hopeful for those two English grumps to get back together.

    Gibb: The Bee Gees
    The all-brother trio were prominent hit makers in the early 1970s who pioneered the disco scene with nothing but a set of incredible harmonies.

    Greenwood: Radiohead
    Johnny and Colin Greenwood make up the lead guitar and bass section of Radiohead. The fact that they are related is the only way you could explain their tight musical groove.

    Hanson: Hanson
    Much like The Bee Gees, Hanson are a band of three brothers, all three swap around their instruments and are still most likely living off of 'MMmbop' royalties. With 16 million record sales worldwide it's hard to believe the brothers had over 80 songs rejected between 2001-2005 by previous record label Island Def Jam Records.

    Hawkins: The Darkness
    Lead Singer Justin Hawkins is back on tour with guitarist brother Dan after a recent reunion following Justin's 2006 departure from the band due to an alcohol and cocaine addiction.

    Hume: Evermore
    Brothers Jon, Peter & Dann make up the band with lead singer Jon born in Australia while Peter & Dann where born in New Zealand, The three grew up together in the city of Fieldingand and in 1999 came to form the group.

    Jarman: The Cribs
    Twins Gary and Ryan Jarman as well as younger brother Ross formed The Cribs in early 2001 and were shortly joined by ex- Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr from 2009-2011.

    Jackson: Jackson 5
    The five Jackson Brothers - active from 1964 to 1990 were one of the biggest pop acts of the 1970s serving as a launching career for many members of the Jackson family.

    Johnston: Biffy Clyro
    Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro contain James on bass and Ben on drums, respectively. Forming in early 1995, the band have gone on to launch a successful career with only few major hurdles.

    Knopfler: Dire Straits
    Brothers Mark and David formed Dire Straits in 1977 with Mark on lead guitar/vocals and David on guitar/keyboards, David left the band in 1980 due to creative differences.

    Kirkwood: Meat Puppets
    American rock outfit Meat Puppets began in January 1980 formed by Curt and Cris Kirkwood with Curt on guitar/vocals and Cris on bass/vocals. The band has released 14 studio albums to date with two separate break ups in 1996 & 2002 (they’ve since reformed.

    Leto: 30 Seconds To Mars
    Forming in 1998, 30 Seconds To Mars brothers Jared & Shannon Leto are the only two consistent members of the American 'rock' band with bassist Matt Wachter leaving to join Angels & Airwaves.

    Pope: The Get Up Kids
    Formed in 1995 the alternative rock band helped bring along the second wave of the 'emo' scene with brothers Rob and Ryan playing a large role performing drums and bass.

    Reid: The Jesus & Mary Chain
    Jim and William Reid make up both share guitar and vocal duties in the infamous Jesus and Mary Chain. Both members are the only ones to have stuck around since 1984.

    White: The Electric Soft Parade
    Brothers Alex and Tom White formed the band The Electric Soft Parade in 2001 and later went on to collaborate on a much harder, punk-influenced project Brakes.

    Van Halen: Van Halen
    Van Halen formed in 1972 with brothers Eddie -Guitarist and Alex on drums the two went on be one of only five rock bands that have had two albums sell more than 10 million copies in the U.S.

    Comprised of brothers Brain, Dennis & Carl (as well as cousin Mike Love) it was inevitable that there were going to be a few disputes. Sadly, both Dennis and Carl are now deceased but Brian makes sure to constantly pay tribute to their work and lives.
