WA muso Dan Cribb has been belting out punk covers of The Simpsons songs for half a year now, and his latest is a pop-punk version of the rehab-themed ‘You’re Checkin’ In’, with none other than Jeremy Neale taking over vocal duties.

The track featured in an episode that saw the Simpson family head to New York to catch a music based around drug rehab centre The Betty Ford Clinic, its main character clearly skewering the then-addicted Robert Sowney Jr.

“While ‘You’re Checkin’ In’ isn’t too well known compared to some of The Simpsons‘ other hits, it has some insanely catchy melodies and lends itself perfectly to becoming a punk rock tune,” Dan told Music Feeds. “The song has a pretty wide vocal range that Jeremy nailed. His voice is magic and he’s a super nice dude.”

Having already recorded tracks with Alex Lahey and Luca Brasi’s Tyler Richardso, Dan is gradually forming a full 12-track record, and you can listen to track number 6 below – along with the original, distinctly more Broadway-esque version.
