It’s a vast genre, which encompasses a wide range of music, specifically those sounds that are merged from folk, country, blues, rhythm and blues and of course rock n roll and bluegrass, especially in the 60′s, when the music was no longer exclusively American…. But whatever happened its roots could no be exclusively denied. As the roots deserved to be acknowledged the term “Americana” was coined.
To celebrate the long life of Americana; Warner Music Australia are releasing ‘Classic Americana’ a compilation of their most loved Americana songs which includes tracks from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Carly Simon, Tim Buckley, The Doobie Brothers, Jefferson Airplane and more…
